theory of knowledge
Epistemology: the theory of knowledge, especially with regard to its methods, validity, and scope. Epistemology is the investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion.
Theory of Knowledge is a course that lends itself to the truest and most important form of education: discovery. Students in TOK are asked to take risks and be ready to challenge their minds to new ways of thinking. Theory of Knowledge requires you to pay attention to the details and constantly search for deeper meaning and be willing to be truthful with yourself about where you come from and what you believe. Learners in TOK explore new ways of approaching global issues, think about themselves as artists and scientists, rather than just students and learn to love for much greater reasons and a much greater audience.
Yes, this is about YOU.
But you can't know you until you know everyone else.
Sometimes the best way to know where you are is to know where you are not.
Keep traveling and collecting stories and experiences. Go out and live in the world; ask as many questions as you can think up; and be a part of as many community projects as you can find. And then when you think you've got a pretty good idea of who you are, you'll find you've got a pretty good idea of what the world needs and what you need to do make an impact.
If you leave TOK with nothing else, remember this: The world is desperately waiting to meet you and invite you in and dance with you and share its story. But you won't find them at the concierge desk at the Marriott.
I can guarantee you that.
With that said, I'm so happy you've decided to take this journey.
